The History of The Eye Care Group: A Family Affair
Over 35 years ago, optometrist Dr. Sandy Koppe had a vision: to create a business that offered the best possible service and the highest quality products with consistency, commitment, and diligence. Together with his wife Kathi, the Koppés have created a business that has stayed true to these values.
Since 2007, Kristiena Bobocel and Kim Jurina, both accomplished and experienced opticians (the daughters of Dr. Sandy and Kathi Koppé), have continued this tradition and expanded the vision their parents started.

Kristiena lives and breathes the optical industry. Not only is it what she’s done since she was 12 years old, but it’s something that she’s also passionate about. Her commitment to the business and to the customers is part of her entrepreneurial DNA. Kristiena’s focus is on operations of the business, taking care of operational efficiency and managing the finances of Eyecare Group, but you’re also just as likely to find Kristiena in any one of our three locations serving customers, supporting staff and always looking for ways to make things better for everyone.
Over the last 30 years of working in the optical industry, Kristiena has garnered the respect of her peers and her patients by providing a thorough professional and friendly experience. In addition to being a licensed optician, Kristiena has also extended her lifelong educational journey to include certifications in business, nutrition as well as being a certified in aesthetics.
When Kristiena is not focussing on the business, she’s caring for her family that includes her lucky husband, their two amazing daughters, and their forever 2-year old (140 pound bullmastiff, Nixon). While Kristiena loves spending time with her family, she also likes to escape to the gym to sneak in a good workout, a facial or a deep massage…she believes that in order to look after others, she also has to look after herself!
