Complete Contact Lens Care

Contact lenses are a fantastic option for people who crave freedom from glasses. However, finding the right style and brand of contact lenses is more than matching your prescription. It is a thorough process involving a complete exam, a detailed fitting, and a trial period.

To find contact lenses that are comfortable, well-fit, and provide the clarity you need, book an appointment with our team. We will help you find the perfect contact lenses for your eyes.

To determine if contact lenses are a good choice for you, we will conduct a thorough examination. We will assess the shape of your cornea, the quality of your tear film, and your overall eye health. We will also discuss any lifestyle factors that could influence which contact lenses are best suited to your needs. This will help us determine your current prescription and if contacts are a viable option for you.

We will then take precise corneal and pupil measurements and keratometry readings to assess astigmatism. This will help determine which size and curvature of contact lenses will provide you with the best clarity and fit.

After this thorough examination of your eyes, it is time to choose your contact lenses. With advancements in contact lens technology and materials, there are several types to choose from:

Soft Lenses

The most common type of contact lens, soft lenses are made using hydrogel or silicone hydrogel. They range in types from extended-wear to daily disposables.

Rigid Gas Permeable (RGP) Lenses

Rigid gas permeable lenses are less popular than soft contact lenses but remain a viable option for many patients. Helpful for people with severe astigmatism or whose eyes require more breathable contacts.

Toric Lenses

Toric lenses are shaped to fit irregularly shaped corneas or astigmatism and are specially designed to prevent objects from looking blurred, tilted, or stretched. Specially-weighted to keep them from rotating and moving on the eye, toric lenses need to be specially fitted by your optometrist.

Multifocal Lenses

Multifocal contact lenses contain two or more prescriptions in one lens. Helpful for people with presbyopia, they allow the ability to see clearly at all distances without having to switch between different glasses or contact lenses.

After the exam and fitting, we will send you home with a trial pair or pairs of contact lenses. You will have the chance to test them out and determine if they are comfortable and provide you with the clear vision you need.

Your follow-up appointment will ideally be scheduled within a week of your first appointment, depending on your schedule. At your appointment, we will discuss your experience, and if your contacts were successful, we will order a supply for you. If not, we will try another brand or style until we find the best, most comfortable option.
